LORETTO, TN—Loretto Telecom established the Loretto Telecom Legacy Scholarship in October 2021 to mark the 125th anniversary of providing telecommunication services to the citizens of Lawrence County. The scholarship represents all of our current and former employees who have made this possible through their hard work and dedication throughout the past 125 years. It was established to offer education opportunities to deserving high school seniors. The scholarship is awarded to children of Loretto Telecom customers who exhibit outstanding scholastic abilities and motivation to continue their education.
The Loretto Telecom Legacy Scholarship Program will award $2,000 in college scholarships this spring to a high school senior pursuing a degree in a technological field of study at any institution, but with bonus points award if studies will take place at Southern Tennessee Higher Education Center.
To qualify, applicants must be children of current Loretto Telecom telephone or broadband service customers (of at least one year), and be a graduating high school senior (including home-schooled students) in Loretto Telecom’s service area. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, demonstrated leadership and community involvement.
